Mommy and Me

Yesterday, my daughter was very mommy-oriented.   Well, she often is.   I enjoy being her point of refuge at the end of a long day.     But that day, she wanted to read to me, so she read a book about dolphins.  I was amazed at the words she no longer stumbled on.    After awhile, she went to bed.  I tucked her in.   She said, “Mom… I wish sometimes you would lay down with me.  I miss the old days.”

How could I resist?   Sometimes, I miss the old days, too.

Lately, most of my days have been amazing, in one way or another, and I’m thankful for that.
