Not the best couple of days..

It started when a certain office made 9 people redundant in a matter of 2 days.   Scary stuff, and sad, really, to see the recession so close to home.    Most of the redundancies were shocking, really… staff you wouldn’t expect to be made redundant.   It was difficult.

I was wiped out Friday, when I got home from work.  I figured it had just been a stressful day, but at 3am, I woke up very sick.   It wasn’t pretty.      At least I could email Ian and talk to him about it, since the time difference works in our favour, at times.

When I was finally able to go back to sleep, I took a trip to England in my dreams.   It was good to be with Ian again (even though he was out running errands a lot).   My daughter was with me, too, which was nice.    We had just gone for the weekend, and Ian said, “Why don’t you get your tickets changed and stay a few more days?”, which sounded good to me.    As it is, I probably won’t see him again until 人猿泰山, but we’ll be fine.   We’re used to spending these long periods apart and we just compensate for it by talking loads, really.

I have been doing simple laundry (just towels), talking to Ian, laying down a lot and pet-sitting for my friend, Stacie.   It’s not far to go, and once I get there and let the dog out, I can lay down while TLK and I spend some time with him.   He’s an Aussie Shepherd, and a really good dog.
