Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems
Better put them in quotations
Say what you need to say (8x)
Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead
If you could only
Say what you need to say (8x)
Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You better know that in the end
It’s better to say too much
Than never to say what you need to say again
Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open
Say what you need to say (x 32) 🙂
A good reminder for those times when you have something to say and you hold back, wondering, for whatever reason, if you should.
Saying what I need to say sets me free. Always.
So what’s it called then ?

While the sentiment may be spot on, rarely can there have been such a set of turgid repetitive lyrics! Whenever I hear this come on to the radio, it’s a guaranteed channel changer!

The sentiment behind those lyrics means more than you could know to me right now.

Excellent use of the word “turgid”. 6 extra points. 🙂
All very profound stuff ma’am.

Oddly enough, I’ve heard this song 3 times on the radio in the last 2 days (and I rarely listen to the radio). I think it’s the repetition that makes this song meaningful to me. It’s almost like each time it’s said, the meaning goes deeper.
Odd how I can get attached to some songs like this, but some songs like “You Are So Beautiful” (Joe Cocker) really grate on my last nerve.
