Nickolodeon is doing something brilliant. I found out as my daughter said, “MOM!? Nick’s shut down until 3pm!”
It’s a Worldwide Day of Play.
They want kids to go outside and play.
Good idea. 🙂

(excuse the mess) 🙂

fabulous idea! when i was a kid, we were never inside. that’s not the case anymore.
This is so cool, a good initiative. Whenever this small boy from the next apartment comes to our house, all he wants to do is watch Nick or Pogo. They should have it once a week.
But may, I think, they were having some technical problems and decided to make the most of it. I mean, you’ll never know.

Cady – It’s been so long, I don’t remember what I did when I was a kid. I imagine it involved the teather ball in the back yard and our swingset.
Violet – Hmmm… If they DID have technical issues, they thought of the excellent plan to make it look good. 🙂 My daughter tried to switch the tv to the Disney Channel instead. I sent her outside. lol
Fab idea…tho I suspect TLK would beg to differ! ;o)

Just to squash one suggestion (because I think it was a brave move by Nick – they must have lost quite a lot of money in advertising revenue to do this and I admire them for the strength to do this): It wasn’t due to technical issues – they had a special set of web-pages set up and it appeared, in advance, in all the TV listings and was therefore entirely planned. Yes, it is possible that they used the downtime to do things like rejig studios and technical bits that would have been tricky if the channel was fully broadcasting but they one hundred percent planned to do this specifically to encourage kids to step away from the TV and get out in the fresh air and play. Well done Nickelodeon.
