The Things People Say

For some silly reason, someone at work thought it would be a good idea just to toss out names of people who were skinny and people who were slightly overweight. I made the “slightly overweight list”. This was coming from the 350+ pound man.

I personally have nothing against weight. I think some things are better left unsaid, though, like judging a coworker’s weight…. out loud.

I spent the rest of the day trying to excuse that. I mean, people say dumb stuff all the time that could hurt people’s feelings.

Like the lady who said, the night of our all-night upgrade, “Now you’ll know what it’s like to not have a weekend.” Ok. We’re not overnight workers most of the time, but our network admin works plenty of weekends upgrading servers when no one is around. Plenty of IT people already have a good idea of what it’s like to not have a weekend.
