Special K Protein Water

Today, at the grocery store, I picked up a box of Special K cereal with a free sample of their protein water mix inside. As luck would have it, it’s tea flavored.

I have to admit, even with my very loose definition of what tea is, this is certainly not tea. But it IS protein laden, which makes a good 30 calorie snack, in a way, before or between meals.

By the way, my search for Tetley teabags failed miserably at the local Walmart grocery store. The only thing Tetley there was their rendition of bags specifically for iced tea. I am finally in the mood for hot tea, and no luck with the teabags.

There are more stores, though. 🙂

Shopping with The Little Kid

So, we went off to Kohls to spend our Christmas gift cards. She picked out a few toys and I headed off to lingerie. We took stuff into the dressing room, where I promptly told her not to look. It’s not that I’m shy. I just don’t want to hear, “Mom! I see your boobs!” echo unceremoniously throughout the dressing room.

So I picked out what I wanted and we headed for the cashier. Upon laying my stash on the checkout counter, the tag on the underwear showing a picture of how it looks on the underwear model appeared for her to see.

“Mom? You want your butt to look like that??”

“Yes, honey. Yes, I do.”

Kohl’s and Vera Wang

It was a pleasant surprise to see “Simply Vera” by Vera Wang all over Kohl’s Department Stores yesterday. Suddenly, I feel like I’ve moved to New York City.

I noticed them first in the lingerie department, where the silky chemises also had some netting details, and I said, “Wait…. something’s different about this” and checked the tag.

Oh, how exciting! Vera Wang at department store prices. 🙂

Kohl’s carrys an array of Vera Wang.. shoes, boots, jewelry, clothing and intimate apparel. Must have some Vera Wang designs.

Free Samples

I go to the Walmart site every now and then and order several sample items. It’s kind of fun to get a new shampoo or laundry detergent or whatever in the mail. This week’s specials are Pepcid, Nicorette gum and Poise pads, though. I think I’ll pass. 🙂
