Hmmm… Maybe I WON’T be going to work tomorrow. Thanks, for real, Sarah! (in case you’re wondering, Sarah lives west of me in a neighboring city. Since the weather originates from the West, Sarah is blamed for all of it)
On the way home, the variable message signs over the interstate indicated that the York, NE exit was closed due to bizzard-like conditions.
The variable message signs stink, by the way. Everyone on the interstate has to stop to read them. This is dangerous in heavy traffic alone, but on icy interstate, well… you can just imagine. I can see their purpose, mind you, but there is going to be a horrible accident someday because of them.
Either Omaha needs faster readers or faster darn signs! Or how about messages which are more to-the-point. “Don’t go to York. Trust us on this.” ?
