Her life is pretty much ruined already. She’s not going to be able to get a normal job. The best she can do is start her own business or get lucky and get some promotional money. With the amount of media circus surrounding her trial, I doubt that anyone will touch her with a 10 mile pole.

My personal opinion is this would have turned out differently if there had not been so much media involved. I think Johnny Law felt an undue sense of urgency to move things along and didn’t spend enough time looking for the evidence needed to convict. There’s no statute of limitations on murder so they had all the time in the world to put together a case with more than circumstantial evidence.

The sad thing is always Caylee and that she died. Someone should be held accountable for that, in an ideal world. I figure it won’t take long for Casey to screw up and ruin her own life.

Whatever the result…innocence, non-guilt, etc, the great sadness is that the young life of a lovely, lively child has been snuffed-out. What a terrible loss to the world, and despite my Christian beliefs, I just cannot reconcile in my mind how such a horror can happen, hit the news for a while, and eventually be forgotten by most of us.

Looks strangely like your blog post :). I think Nancy Grace did have one point to ponder, and that is whether or not people were so used to CSI television programs where they expect things to be worked out perfectly so that you absolutely know exactly what happened during a crime, as if you were there watching it.

I think she got lucky that there were enough people, as well as herself, contributing to “not finding Caylee” to cover up whatever DNA or physical proof might have been available otherwise.

Innocent and not guilty are two different concepts. Without cause of death and direct forensic evidence, the prosecutors put forth a lot of circumstantial theories. I watched quite a bit, and I don’t think they made the case. The jury had to decide based on the evidence, not how unlikeable Anthony was.

Personally, I cannot understand how someone could go a month without notifying the authorities, or even worse, hit the party circuit. But, there are all kinds of reactions to stressful situations.

Unfortunately, the press – Nancy Grace, in particular – made the trial into both a personal quest and a ratings bonanza. I found that extremely disguisting. I also think that the roving crowds of outraged citizens need to quit taking justice in their own hands, and put some faith – or at least respect – in our jury system.

Maybe she’s guilty. Maybe not. In any case, the decision is made, and we cannot change it. Further, we are not above the law.

Someone said that the strength of our legal system is not in how we treat the best of us, but rather in how we treat the worst of us.

Oddly enough, it’s been on the US tab of the BBC for a few days. It’s a bizarre story. Today, when they were about to sentence her, she was laughing and winking at people. She’s one of those fake kind of people, it seems. She doesn’t sound bothered at all about her daughter.. not now, not when it first happened.. never.

…..this case doesn’t seem to have been reported in the UK, so I can’t comment but what a sad world it can be when anyone would do this to a child!
